The service was exceptional, highlighted by the welcoming staff who created a memorable birthday celebration. Dining was a treat, particularly the fantastic food served at the hotel restaurant. the busy bar area was a bit overwhelming at times, making it less ideal for an intimate evening. while the hotel charm was appreciated, some features felt a bit dated and could use a refresh.

18th Century styling, physical room keys, vintage style
The check-in process took longer than expected!!! Playing chess in the bar shouldn't require us to be exiled to the lounge. Such odd arrangements can really ruin a relaxing evening!!!

the dukes hotel is just lovley! the bar has the best martinis ever, especially when they prepare it right in front of u. the breakfast in the restaurant is super good too, like wow! i loved the cozy ambiance, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. also, the staff were so nice and helpful, made us feel like royalty.
but the walls are kinda thin, so u can hear noise from the hallway. also, check-in was a bit awkward with some misunderstandings about the room.

Given the hefty price tag, the accommodations felt a bit tired and in need of refreshing. The lift malfunctioned during my stay, forcing me to trek up multiple flights of stairs with my bags. Breakfast trays lingered in the corridors far too long, and the bar's early closing time made it impossible to enjoy a nightcap after a show. Missing extras in the room, like a filled minibar or small welcome touches, left the experience feeling less personalized than expected.
